September

Oldland Mill will be open for its final Event Day of the season on Sunday, September 7th,   11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The day will have a musical theme, with the very popular folk group, the Copper Family Singers, and some individual music acts. Children’s activities and the sale of memorabilia and refreshments, including a BBQ, all combine to make this a great day out for all the family.
Having now produced a substantial quantity of flour we can at last call ourselves a ‘working mill’!  Weather permitting we will be producing flour on September 7th and it is planned to have our own commercially printed flour bags containing relevant information such as how to store the flour, and the ‘best before’ date, etc.
The mill will also be open on Sunday, 5th October, 2 – 5 p.m. for guided tours, memorabilia and refreshments.  Do come and support us to help raise the £5,000 needed annually to maintain what we believe is the most beautiful mill in Sussex.  Donations at these events are greatly appreciated – we suggest £3 per person or £5 per family.

We would still like to hear from anyone interested in volunteering to help in promoting the mill and the activities held there.  And don’t forget visitors are always welcome at the mill on a Thursday when volunteers are there to carry out ongoing restoration and maintenance.
